Sharing Things Together

This morning I surprised my husband and showed up at soul winning. I'm still in a good amount of pain each morning, so I know that he didn't expect to see me there.

"You're here!" he said, in exclamation, when he did see me. "Come over here, I want to show you everything that has been done around the church in the past few days.

Having my husband show me the neat things that have been done around the church over the past couple of days is the main reason that I surprised him and showed up at soul winning this morning. I knew he was excited about all the building that had taken place and I know that he was anxious for me to see it.

"Look," he said, as he took me into the lobby to show me the new secretary station, "Isn't this incredible?"

"Yes, it certainly is. Absolutely amazing. And so beautiful too. It just looks so beautiful. And it looks like it has always been there. The fellows have done an amazing job."

"Let's go into the fellowship hall, I want to show you the back office."

As we walked through the auditorium and entered the fellowship hall he leaned over and said to me, "Try to overlook the mess. All this mess is making me nervous."

"I know," I told him, "But they will have it all cleaned up by tonight."

"You're right."

I always feel glad when God uses me to bring comfort to my husband.

"See, isn't this something?" my husband said as he pointed to the beautiful cabinets and floor that they had put in the 'used-to-be-kindof-scuzzy-office in the fellowship hall.

"This is incredible!" I exclaimed. "This looks soooo great!"

"You like it? You really like it? It means a lot to me that you like it."

"I don't only like it, I love it. I absolutely love it. You all did an amazing job in here."

"Thanks. I'm so glad that you like it."

After we looked and admired all the new additions, we got in the car and drove to our designated street to pass out tracts. I love going soul winning with my husband. It is just one of those things that is kind of special that we do together each week.

"I have to stop at Ace and pick something up for the project. And then I need to stop at home real quick and pick up some clothes. Is that ok with you?"

"That's fine. I enjoy spending this time with you."

When I said this he smiled and said that he enjoyed spending this time with me too.

Then later on in the day he called to see if I wanted to ride somewhere to pick up a large piece of glass that they ordered. When the time came, it didn't work out for us to go together, but I was still thrilled that he asked.

At about 5:00 p.m. I got prepared to take my daily two mile walk, and before I did, I gave my husband a call to let him know where I would be in case he called while I was out.

As soon as he answered the phone he said, "Hey, you want to go get us some tacos and bring them here so we can have dinner together?"

"I would love to, " I said. I would rather eat tacos with my husband then take my daily walk any day! "I'll be there in a few minutes."

I put on my shoes, grabbed my purse and headed out to Taco Bell and then over to the church. When I got there, we spent a few minutes looking around at everything again and then we sat together in his office and ate. What a nice time we had just sharing our taco meal together.

After we finished eating, I cleaned up the mess and grabbed my purse to get ready to go.

"Don't go yet," my husband asked, "Just stay a little while longer. I like when you are here."

"I'll be happy to hang around." I like it when I am there too! Any time that I can be around my husband is a good time for me, so I put my purse down and went and sat in the fellowship hall with everybody else.

"I like when you are here," my husband kept saying to me every time he would walk pass me, "Thanks so much for staying."

"My pleasure!"

I stayed at the church about three hours and visited with everybody there and stood alongside of my husband as we wished the last person a good night as they left the building to go home. We have so many good, hard working people at our church and I am thankful for every single one of them.

"I best go now," I said, knowing that even though it was late, my husband still had many hours of work left to do.

"Don't go yet, let's look at everything together again."

And so we walked around and looked at everything together again. As we stood in the new office, we were both overwhelmed by the goodness of God and the helpfulness of the people at our church.

"This place is amazing," I said.

"I know. And I'm so glad that you are here sharing this with me. I like when we share things together."

And then he gave me a kiss. And then he turned around and kissed me again. And again and again and again. God has been so good to us . . . in our marriage and in our ministry.

"Let me carry your things out to the car for you. Thanks again for staying. I like when you stay," my husband said as he kissed me again.

"I like when I stay too," and then I kissed him for the final time and got in my car and drove home.

Today has been a great day, and the greatest part of the day was the time that my husband and I just spent time sharing these special things together . . . like all the work that has been done at the church . . . and all those special kisses too :).

Aaahhh! There is nothing better than marriage the way God meant for it to be! What a priceless example you are to those around you. Thank you for exalting marriage and for making submission look like the treasure it is.

Happy Sunday!

The new additions to the building look beautiful!!! I can't believe how much was done in just a few days! I'm also thankful for the desk from the "old" office because it looks wonderful in my house and makes the whole room look nicer. Thank you so much!!!

This is beautiful..this is what marriage is about..I even go to the dump when my beloved makes his trips..or to home depot..even if I just sit in the car, these days due to pain etc..any time spent with him is so worth it.....I don't want to look back and have regrets one day..*I wish I had spent more time*..or this and that..
you wrote this perfectly..
