I am married to a strong man. Most people refer to him as a "Man's Man." And yes, he is definitely a man's man.
But more than that, I am married to a man that is God's Man. And as God's Man, he is a man with very deep convictions.
I am reminded of this every day as I witness the way he lives and the manner in which he has led us to live.
My husband is a man that gets himself up early every morning to go to work. Never once in our marriage have I ever had to wake up him for work, for church, or for anything. There have been many times that he has had to wake me up :), but there has never been a day that I had to wake him up to get ready for anything.
My husband is a man that dresses himself for success each day. Every day of the week (expect Thursday when he is off), he puts on a white shirt, a suit and a tie. When he was in the military he put on a uniform. A uniform that was perfectly ironed and pressed. My husband showers and shaves every day. And not because I tell him to.
My husband is a man that handles all of our finances. He earns all the money and he pays all the bills. Every week he faithfully gives me a generous amount of money for my wants and the needs of the house, and every week I manage to spend every bit of it! It's a good thing my husband saves part of his!
My husband carries the burdens of our family. He is the one who battles daily for the hearts and minds and souls of our children, while I sit at home and many times worry and cry and pray.
My husband is a gentlemen and insists on paying for everything when we are out, opening my car door and ordering for me when I can't decide what I want. He is the one that plans our vacations, takes me out to eat and buys me clothes when I need them and yummy treats when I want them :)!
We are a family where biblical roles are taken seriously and we live within our means. We live in a house where there is no cable TV, no questionable movies are played, as a matter of fact, where a movie of any sort is rarely played, no romance novels reside, and only cleaninter.net is allowed. We are a one car family and we wear the same clothes month after month and we make it a priority to keep our house and car consistently neat and clean. We live an every day life that makes sense and it's not because I always make sense.
We live this way because my husband believes that living this way makes biblical sense. He is a strong man with very deep convictions and for that I am very thankful.
Yesterday I was reminded of this again as I listened to him preach. In the morning he preached about the cost of discipleship and in the evening he is teaching us about proving God in our finances. The preaching and teaching that we receive at our church is so sound and sensible and because of that our people are growing by leaps and bounds in every area of their lives.
I'm married to a strong man with very deep convictions. Because of this he stands steady and is not easily budged. Not by me, not by my children, not by our church members and not by his peers. Many years ago he made a decision to get his beliefs from God through his King James Bible, and it doesn't really matter to him what everyone else is doing or thinking or teaching or pressuring him to do or think or teach.
If you live in our area and are looking for a good church with a great Pastor, I want to encourage you to attend our church. It's a place filled with great teaching and preaching, kind and loving people, and a strong man of God with very deep convictions.

What a very encouraging post. In this day and age people take it for granted that pastors are a dime a dozen. But true men of God with deep heart felt convictions are rare and precious. I am so privileged to be married to such a man. Thank you for sharing such sweet thoughts.
